General Information About Virtual Communications Interview Highlight:
Wayne Hurlbert: When you talk about Virtual Teams, what do you mean by a Virtual Team?
Yael Zofi: That’s a great question because actually when I started my research I thought that everyone would know what a Virtual Team is. What I found was that there wasn’t one consistent definition. Some people viewed Virtual Teams as people that work from home or teams that are network teams, or production teams, or that get together for short time frames or sometimes they are synchronous or asynchronous, the same time or not the same time. So, I simplified the definition of Virtual Team and to me it’s whether the person or your team member is across the street or across the world, a Virtual Team is a team whose members are simultaneously working together while physically apart. So, actually the rule of 30 feet, you know, you and I could work across the street we could still be a virtual team, or we can be working across the country or across the world.
