An Introduction To The Virtual Business Office Video Cliff Notes Series
To begin, here’s Yael talking about the passion behind her interest in this subject and a short glimpse of the process that resulted in A Manager’s Guide to Virtual Teams.
It’s been an exciting time for Yael Zofi since her virtual business office book A Manager’s Guide to Virtual Teams was released last fall. As interest in the virtual world continually grows, Yael and her team have become the ‘go to’ resource for answers to questions about how to succeed in the virtual world.
Enabled by technology, the virtual working group is a natural solution for getting deliverables out the door in our fast-paced, global environment. Increasingly, leaders are charged with quickly putting together virtual work teams of individuals with appropriate skills and abilities to fit within a project’s time line, regardless of where the talent is physically located. The virtual landscape comes with its own special set of challenges and Yael Zofi has developed strategies and techniques to help you overcome them.
Recently, Yael was interviewed by WatchIT TV about key techniques for working with and managing virtual teams. She shares the elements that every high performing team must master, and offers the cliff notes version of what every colleague needs to know, including the four most critical elements: Context Communication; Trust and Accountability; Conflict Mediation and Deliverable Management. Every chapter of her book is touched on in this informative talk, including Team Setup, Cross Cultural Communications and the Future of Virtual Teams.

“My passion has always been working with teams. These days it’s more involved around working virtual teams. I wanted to write a book that is intended for the manager that’s practical, user friendly, as a guide gives some real tools and techniques and shares stories, so in preparation for this book I actually interviewed over 150 managers and team members who work virtually and their stories come to life and shared, as well some of their best practices and some of my suggestions from my consulting experience.”
